Evidence Relationship: Opposes

Vote on whether "The 19-point minimum asymmetry gap exceeds the largest single framing effect (18 points) recorded across the same protocol" is good evidence that opposes the claim "The Switch/Footbridge asymmetry survives every framing manipulation tested in a 27-manipulation adversarial protocol (Ferreiro & Adeyemi, 2023, N=19,400)"

Evidence Claim

The 19-point minimum asymmetry gap exceeds the largest single framing effect (18 points) recorded across the same protocol

Within the Ferreiro & Adeyemi dataset, the maximal framing-induced shift in Footbridge endorsement was 18 points (the intrinsic-versus-carried mass manipulation). Because the smallest asymmetry gap across all 27 cells was 19 points, no single documented artifact is large enough to generate the asymmetry from nothing, even under the most favorable arithmetic to the debunker.

Main Claim

The Switch/Footbridge asymmetry survives every framing manipulation tested in a 27-manipulation adversarial protocol (Ferreiro & Adeyemi, 2023, N=19,400)

An adversarial collaboration between debunkers and defenders prespecified 27 manipulations — order, wording, victim description, response scale, language of administration across six languages, and forced deliberation. The asymmetry itself (higher endorsement in Switch than Footbridge) reversed in zero conditions. Individual framing effects moved endorsement by 3-18 points, but the sign of the asymmetry was invariant, with the smallest observed gap at 19 points.

Stacking is the whole objection. Did any cell combine three or more manipulations in the same direction?

Four cells crossed three manipulations. Largest combined shift was 24 points, and the asymmetry still held at 21 in that cell because the manipulations moved Switch too. Interactions were subadditive throughout.
